Life can change very quickly. In June 2016 retired Cardiff GP Stephen Glascoe is on a city break in Vienna with his wife. He comes home to a country that has voted to leave the EU – and, more worryingly, the ‘powerful, bony hand’ of a police officer on his shoulder at Bristol airport. He is accused of historical child abuse: alleged offences dating from the late 1980s and 1990s. Brexit suddenly doesn’t seem like such a big deal.
