The future of Welsh energy is at a crucial juncture. Two new power plants, two profoundly contrasting utopian and dystopian visions, are under consideration by the UK Government: A tidal lagoon in Swansea Bay of strikingly futuristic design which can contribute to alleviating the threats to our society posed by climate change and rising tides, and a new power station powered by the same nuclear energy that brought to humanity the disasters at Chernobyl, and more recently, Fukushima.
