This is the thirty‐third contribution to our Welsh Keywords series – inspired by Raymond Williams’ Keywords – which offers contemporary perspectives on contested meanings of words in Welsh and how these shifting meanings continue to shape our society.
I am writing these words on the eve of a drama that is being played in the Penygroes Memorial Hall. We are nervous, excited, full of anticipation and hope. Part of the reason is that there is a cast of twenty-seven actors, and not one of them is over the age of eleven. Added to that, apart from the mentor, we have not much experience of drama. But as a group, that is not going to stop us.
