If any book is well-advised not to be judged by its cover, then this is surely it. The title, scrawled in a phoney handwritten-style font, is accompanied by an endorsement from sports commentator and ‘TV personality’, Clare Balding, who simply says it’s ‘enjoyable’. Such enticements would not usually draw me to a purchase. Happily though, I met Ursula at a writing conference last year and this pricked my interest in her work: she arrived in clumpy muddy boots, but possessed a delicacy of language that was all her own.
