Every day, cruise ships the size of a hotel pass along the canals of Venice. Federico Sutera is a photographer whose gallery on Guidecca island faces a narrow stretch of the lagoon looking across to the main city. As each ship passes, it blocks out his view of the iconic buildings opposite, often with the added bonus of pop music blaring from a disco on deck.
