The Folklore of Wales: Ghosts
Edited by Delyth Badder and Mark Norman
The Folklore of Wales: Ghosts, by Delyth Badder and Mark Norman, collects disparate folktales of ghosts and spirits from all over Wales to demonstrate a distinct Welsh ‘voice’ within the wider genre of the ghost story. The editors highlight the importance of regionality in Welsh ghost folklore, and their focus on specific communities allows them to show the ‘propensity for folk tales to evolve within a community over a relatively brief period of time’, developed by being told aloud from person to person, and from village to village.
