In the last issue of Planet, Hywel Dix argued in ‘All Alone in Icy Seas: Wales, Brexit and Nordic Noir’ why the popularity of the Nordic noir genre, and its Welsh noir offspring, had something significant to say about not only the lack of a collective European identity, but also Wales’s isolation from the other devolved polities of the UK, as the UK state teeters on the edge of potential economic and political disaster, depending on the outcome of the Brexit negotiations.
